I am Gina Reed, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s Degree in Social Work and extensive experience in behavioral and mental health. My primary commitment is to support you throughout your journey.
Choosing to start therapy is a significant decision, and selecting the right therapist can feel even more challenging. The therapeutic relationship is a vital component of success, which is why I offer a complimentary consultation to ensure we are a good match before you commit. I am dedicated to supporting you in achieving your goals.
My practice focuses on adults aged 50 and older, with a specialization in older adults (65+). I address a range of conditions, including anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, trauma, grief, aging-related issues, (Complex) Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in adults, personality disorders, and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). (For more details, please see the Treatment Services tab.)
I employ a psychodynamic approach, integrating various modalities such as EMDR, CBT, DBT, EFT, and IFS, among others. (Additional information is available under the Treatment Services tab.)
I earned a Bachelor of Science degree with a double major in Psychology and Sociology (with a concentration in Social Work) from Central Michigan University. I completed my Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) at Wayne State University and obtained a School Social Work Certificate from the University of Michigan. Since 2000, I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Over the years, I have achieved certifications in various subject matter and techniques for psychotherapy, including anxiety, depression, trauma/PTSD, geriatrics/dementia, personality disorders, grief, EMDR, ADHD, CBT, DBT, IFS, and I remain current through ongoing professional training.
Over the years, I have honed my skills across a wide range of settings, including inpatient psychiatry, hospital social work, hospice, residential and outpatient substance use treatment (including Medication Assisted Treatment), assisted and skilled nursing facilities, outpatient mental health, and programs for developmentally disabled and traumatic brain injury clients. My experience also encompasses 5150 evaluations and assessments. Beyond direct therapy, I served as the Director of Behavioral Health for a community health center. I have contributed to various committees focused on ethics, end-of-life care, and improving mental health services, while also collaborating with local agencies to support our community.
